We’re Answer, a simple, reliable and effective pay-as-you-go message taking and virtual answering service. We’re backed by the expertise of JAM, one of the UK’s longest-established answering services.

For new customers on our PAYG Call Answering Service, each call is charged at a flat rate of £2.20 plus VAT, with no fair usage policy or duration limits.

Customers who joined before 23rd June 2025 remain on our £1.75 plus VAT pricing, with a fair usage policy applying beyond 2 minutes per call.

Discounts of up to 20% are available when buying higher volume call bundles.

We take the caller’s name, company name, telephone number, and message. If you need a bit more, you can get in touch or check out our sister company JAM.

Messages are sent instantly via email, and the information is also stored in your online portal. You also have the option to receive the message via SMS, which costs 10p. You can opt in or out of SMS delivery in your Message Delivery settings.

You can create preset requirements when you sign up with Answer. When a call comes in on your dedicated Answer number, a screen pops up in front of the operator, who is guided by these requirements. You can make changes to these directions online and they’ll be updated straight away.
